PRODUCT TYPE: Alkyd Rust-Inhibiting Primer. (Satin Sheen)
DESCRIPTION: This product offers fast air drying, excellent adhesion, durability and easy application qualities. It is a complete ready-to-use primer that cuts through the typical thin layer of surface metal oxide and adheres well to the metal itself.
Intended Use: For use on non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and copper because of its built-in etching ability. Also performs well on ferrous surfaces as a general purpose primer.
VISCOSITY: 70-75 k.u.
DRY TO TOUCH: 1/2-1 hour
WEIGHT SOLIDS: 68-70%
TACK FREE: 2 hours
VOLUME SOLIDS: 45-47%
TIME TO RECOAT: 4 hours
WEIGHT PER GALLON: 11.60 lbs. per gal.
DRY HARD: 2 hours
V.O.C.: 420 grams per liter
COLOR RANGE: Gray or White
FLASH POINT: 50° F.
PACKAGING: 1 or 5 gallon containers
PRACTICAL COVERAGE: 300 square feet per gallon @ approximately 2.0 mils dry.
SURFACE PREPARATION: Surface to be coated must be free of all loose dirt or scaling paint and any other foreign material. All loose rust scales should be removed either by wire brushing, light sandblasting or with Farwest #695 Rynolite Chemical Cleaner-Etcher.
APPLICATION: Brush, roller, or airless or conventional spray. Note: When spraying with conventional cup gun, the viscosity of the material should be reduced within the range of 20"-25" on a Zahn Cup.
THINNING: Thin if necessary with Farwest #605 Synthetic Thinner.
CLEAN-UP: Equipment and tools may be cleaned with Farwest #605 Synthetic Thinner or Farwest #615 Wash Thinner.
