X-6334 Aluminum Weldable Primer

COLOR(S): Aluminum.

PRODUCT TYPE: Phenolic Modified Alkyd.

DESCRIPTION: A weldable, fast-drying, rust-inhibitive primer. This product contains no lead or chromate. It is lacquer-proof and may be used as an undercoat for two-component urethanes and epoxies. Farwest Weldable Primer offers the same high quality as Farwest X-4959 & X-4985 Primers with the added feature of minimum burn back on welds..

Intended Use: For iron, steel, or wood surfaces.

VISCOSITY: 55-60 k.u.

DRY TO TOUCH: 5 minutes

WEIGHT SOLIDS: 43-47%

TACK FREE: 1 hour

VOLUME SOLIDS: 28-32%

TIME TO RECOAT: 2-4 hours

WEIGHT PER GALLON: 9.00 lbs. per gal.

DRY HARD: 2 hours

V.O.C.: 595 grams per liter

COLOR RANGE: Aluminum

FLASH POINT: 45° F.

PACKAGING: 1 or 5 gallon containers

BATCH: 25 gallons minimum

PRACTICAL COVERAGE: 350 square feet per gallon.

SURFACE PREPARATION: Surface must be dust and dirt free. Clean by using solvent degreaser or light sandblasting if necessary. Remove loose rust and scale with Farwest #695 Rynolite Chemical Cleaner-Etcher and wire brush.

APPLICATION: Apply at 1 to 1.25 mils dry by airlesss or conventional spray.

THINNING: Not usually needed but thin if necessary with Farwest #605 Synthetic Thinner or Farwest Toluol.

CLEAN-UP: Equipment and tools may be cleaned with Farwest #605 Synthetic Thinner or Farwest #610 Lacquer Thinner.
